Week 2 Curriculum

Welcome to Week 2 of the CoT Program. This page contains the program curriculum for the Week 2 session.

​

Objectives: The objectives of this session are to:

  • Discuss how food contributes to climate change.

  • Introduce ways we can all commit and take actions to make food choices that are climate friendly.

  • Focus on engaging younger generations and communities on the climate change to accelerate youth-centered actions to stay "Future Ready."

Commitment Pledge.png
  • Part 1: Climate Change & Food Commitment Pledge Competition

    1. Take the Pledge: CoT Facilitators and teens should pledge their commitment to take positive climate change and food actions by taking the online commitment pledge at:  https://forms.gle/FxmUjq2UkX5G7A2W6.

    2. Competition:

      • ​Each project team must work to get others in their community to also take the climate change online.

      • Team members can use the printable Commitment Pledge  QR Code Worksheet to share the link or use the QR Code on the left. 

      • The Project Team that gets the most pledges by the end of the commitment campaign will win a team prize.

      • The deadline to get pledge commitments will be Friday, February 14, 2025.

      • The goal is to get a total of 1,000 commitment pledges by the end of the campaign (February 14th). 

  • Part 2: Climate Change & Food Video

    1. Each project team will record a brief video (60-90 seconds).

    2. Ensure videos are recorded horizontally not vertically.  

    3. Videos must contain the following:

      • Project Team Name​

      • Explain how food contributes to climate change, from your team's perspective.

      • Discuss why this issue matters to your team.

      • Share one action your team will take to make climate-friendly food choices to protect the planet.

    4. **A top video of the week will be selected based on quality editing and content shared.**

    5. Upload your video using the online below (for those with technical difficulties email the video or link to the video to: cot@bgcgw.org).
